About Mike Trout

Mike TroutHe was born on August 7, 1991, in Vineland, New Jersey. His father introduced him to baseball as he was a baseball player himself. Unfortunately, his father played only for years in minor league baseball because he had a knee injury that ended his baseball career. Mike started playing baseball in little league, in the position of a shortstop.

His professional career started in 2009 when he was drafted by the Arizona Angles. he was the first-round pick for them. In that first year, he was named AZL MVP  by Cody Decker. At the end of the season, he was playing for the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

In 2011 season, he had 11 home runs, 38 RBIs, and 33 stolen bases in 91 games he played, also he was named the Baseball America Minor league player of the year. 2012 was the year he became a regular player for the Angles of Anaheim and also won the award for American League Rookie of the Year.

In 2014 he hit his first ever walk-off home run in a match against Tampa Bay Rays, also he hit the longest home run of the entire 2014 season, the ball traveled 489 feet to the left center field. He played in 157 total games in that year and at the end of the season, he was unanimously selected as the All-Star Most Valuable Player of the season. In the beginning of 2015, Mike became the youngest baseball player with only 23 years that successfully reached 100 home runs and 100 stolen bases. For the second time in a row, Mike won the MVP award.

He was the first player in MLB history that won that award two times in a row. In this season on September 22, he hit his 40th home run and that made him the second player that has achieved that in the Angles team.

Unfortunately, he didn’t win this year his second MVP title. In 2016 Mike Trout was named the best baseball player of the season by a sporting news. However, he didn’t have that much home runs at the end of the season like he did last year he was still praised for his unmatched skills. Close to end of the year Mike Trout was named as the AL MVP of the 2016 season. This was his second time winning this award in his professional career.
